Sugar Threads was born during a very special, and slightly chaotic chapter of my life. Becoming a mum!

I’ve always loved creating. As a chef and baker, I’ve spent years finding joy in kitchens making things with my hands. Playing with cake flavours, colours and a lot of sugar. So when I found myself wanting a beaded necklace, I thought, why not make one myself?

I started looking for beading kits that had everything I needed, but I just couldn’t find what I was looking for. So, with a new baby at home I decided to try to find the time between the chaos of postpartum life and create my own.

I began curating beads, colours, charms and putting together the kits I wished I could buy. What started as a little creative outlet, quickly grew into something I became completely passionate about.

And that’s how Sugar Threads was born.

Sugar Threads is about slowing down, getting creative and making something that’s completely yours. It’s for anyone who loves jewellery, colour and creating with their hands. Whether you’re making something for yourself, a friend, or simply looking for a little moment of creativity. But more than anything, I want Sugar Threads to be about connection.

I want you to gather around a table with your friends, your family, your kids, or even just enjoy some quiet time for yourself. Put on some music, pour yourself a glass of wine, pick your favourite beads and create something together.

The jewellery you make becomes more than just a necklace. It becomes a little reminder of the person you were with, the conversations you had, the laughs you shared and the moment you took the time to create something together.

Something to wear, keep, and hopefully, something that carries a memory with it forever.

What started as a postpartum project has become something I’m so excited to share with the world. I hope you love creating with Sugar Threads as much as I’ve loved putting it all together.
